Original
世の人の心惑はす事、色欲(シキヨク)には如(シ)かず。人の心は愚かなるものかな。
匂(ニホ)ひなどは仮のものなるに、しばらく衣裳(イシヤウ)に薫物(タキモノ)すと知りながら、
えならぬ匂ひには、必ず心ときめきするものなり。
九米 (クメ)の仙人の、物洗ふ女の脛(ハギ)の白きを見て、通(ツウ)を失ひけんは、
まことに、手足・はだへなどのきよらに、肥え、あぶらづきたらんは、外の色ならねば、さもあらんかし。
Modern translation
The woman is good. You can call it stupid.
I know that the smell will disappear soon, but it's still burning incense.
If it smells good, it will flutter.
When Kume no Sennin glanced at the washing woman's skin, she lost her magical power.
It would be natural if the skin of the limbs was insanely beautiful.
