いにしへのひじりの御代(ミヨ)の政(マツリゴト)をも忘れ、民の愁(ウレヘ)、
国のそこなはるゝをも知らず、万(ヨロヅ)にきよらを尽していみじと思ひ、
所せきさましたる人こそ、うたて、思ふところなく見ゆれ。

Forgetting the old way of politics, the voice of the people was overlooked, and I didn't notice the decline of the country.
