わが身のやんごとなからんにも、まして、数ならざらんにも、子といふものなくてありなん。
前中書王(サキノチユウシヨワウ)・九条太政大臣(クデウノオホキオトド)・花園(ハナゾノノ)左大臣、
みな、族(ゾウ)絶えん事を願ひ給へり。染殿大臣 (ソメドノノオトド)も、
「子孫おはせぬぞよく侍(ハンベ)る。末のおくれ給へるは、わろき事なり」とぞ、
世継の翁(オキナ)の物語には言へる。
聖徳太子の、御墓(ミハカ)をかねて築(ツ)かせ給ひける時も、
「こゝを切れ。かしこを断て。子孫あらせじと思ふなり」と侍りけるとかや。
